Free LASIK Consultaion

If you are considering LASIK surgery, you must book an appointment online or call NuVision Laser to schedule your FREE no obligation consultation with our LASIK counselor.

Please remember to bring your most current pair of prescription glasses with you.

When you arrive for your consultation, you will be greeted by one of our experienced counselors. The counselor will ask you to complete a patient information form, an important step in the process of determining if you are a candidate for LASIK surgery.

After you are finish with your paperwork, one of our friendly technicians will perform a variety of specialized tests designed to evaluate your candidacy. Many prospective clients are impressed by the ease, elegance and sophistication of the process. We firmly believe that careful, meticulous evaluations contribute to great results.

The preliminary testing typically takes about 20 minutes. When this is complete, the counselor will then review the results, discuss your options and explain the LASIK surgery.  You will also have an opportunity to see our LASIK surgery suite, where our surgeries are performed.  The counselor will make sure that all of your concerns are addressed.

You will then have a chance to meet our surgeon, Dr. Lori Moore.  She will examine your eyes to ensure that they are healthy and make sure that there is no reason for you not to proceed with the LASIK surgery.  She will also make recommendations as to what she feels is the safest and most appropriate course of action for your particular visual needs.

After you have met Dr. Moore and determined that you would like her to perform your LASIK surgery, the next step is to schedule your LASIK Pre-Op exam.  At that time, we will complete all the testing necessary to perform your surgery.

LASIK Pre-Op

During your LASIK Pre-Op examination, Dr. Moore will examine your eyes to make sure they're healthy and stable. She will also make sure you have no health conditions that could hinder your visual improvement.

This will be a cycloplegic exam, meaning your eyes will be dilated in order for Dr. Moore to determine your best possible correction. Your eye exam will last about 1-2 hours.

WaveScan measurements and corneal mappings are performed to verify health and integrity of corneas. Corneal pachymetry readings are performed to determine thickness of the cornea. The above mentioned testing is done in addition to a regular eye examination.

The doctor will also recommend the best refractive procedure for your vision condition — as well as the outcome you can expect. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you have. By the end of the pre-op examination, you will be ready for your LASIK surgery.

While you are here for your pre-op examination, you will be given consent forms and instructions that must be read and signed prior to surgery.  We will also schedule a date for your surgery and subsequent post-op visits.  Before you leave, you will be given a prescription for an antibiotic drop that you should pick up before your surgery.

Soft contact lens wearers should be out of their lenses for 3 days prior to their exam, and Gas Permeable or Hard lens wearers should be out of their lenses for 3 weeks prior to their exam.
